Interview with Bill Clayton, a farmer-rancher-businessman and former Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives (1975-1982), concerning his experiences and personal views during the Second Special Session of the Sixty-fifth Legislature. Clayton discusses the treasury surplus, the sentiment for tax relief, the influence of Proposition 13 in California, gubernatorial politics, homestead exemptions, taxation on agricultural land, the Peveto bill, and the "Filthy Fifty."
